Board Members Present: George Koffler, Marcia Kemp, Dave Sykes, Nancy Snider,
Howard Mullins, Dave DeMayo and Sharon Lewis.
Morrow County Commissioner Candidates Forum:
WCVEDG meeting started with commissioner forum. Lloyd Burns and Ken Grieb each gave a short introduction about themselves followed by questions from WCVEDG members and the public that was in attendance.
Minutes Approval: Minutes from the March 8th meeting were approved
Treasurer’s Report: $3,979.54 in checking. It was moved and second to authorized payment for the Public Meeting Speedway Advertisement for $147.00 to Heppner Gazette Times.
501( C ) 3 Status-
George reported that forms have been sent in for approval for WCVEDG to acquire tax exempt status. It will take in the neighborhood 3-4 months.
Port of Morrow Mtg-
The following is a synopsis of the recent Port Mtg.
-East Beach Expansion – 97% completed
-South Morrow County Industrial Park – extension was granted due to a supply issue.
-Several Port directors along with Gary Neal attended a waterways meeting in DC.
-RD Offutt will be building a potato processing plant which will employ 75-100.
-Logan International has sold
-Heppner Body Shop has sold to Mike Williams who will be specialized in detailing vehicles
Speedway Public Meeting-
55 people attended last night’s meeting on the Boardman Speedway. WCVEDG group voted to support the speedway activity district and donate $100.00 to the PAC group.
E-Commerce Zone-
Dave reported that we didn’t meet the requirements by the deadline but hopefully we will next year.

Other-
John Edmundson reported that he had gathered goals from several organizations including the Heppner Chamber of Commerce, City of Heppner, and Morrow County Schools. Marcia and Nancy will bring to the next meeting goals of Lexington and Ione respectively.
